Cheap Neoprene Case for Your Mini

I just want everyone to know that DealExtreme.com, a Hong Kong based online store, has a protective neoprene case for 8"/9" netbooks for cheap. For $4.99 with free shipping, you get get a reversible neoprene case.

One side is black with red trim, while the other is red with black stitching. Needless to say I rock the red side. The case fits perfectly. It's thick and should protect your mini from scratches and bumps.

DealExtreme.com does sell some slightly illegal stuff, but is a reputable online store.

I've seen netbook cases going for $30 dollars, the DealExtreme case is the same material and quality. It definitely gets the Ubuntu Mini seal of approval.

Exactly how long did it take for you to get your case? I've been waiting almost 12 days from ship date and still haven't seen it. Does it come regular USPS?

Joe,

I don't know, but it does come USPS. Everyone knows USPS sucks.

I received the neoprene case today.
It was better than I thought it would be.
Perfect fit and the red border gives a nice elegant look to the black.
It opens also much easier than I thought it would.
$5 including the shipping (it came from Honk Kong)..I honestly thought it was some scam... No idea how they make money on this but really worth it.
I put the mini9 in my kids sports bag when I take them to their activities but Im always afraid that the zipper or other will scratch. This is perfect.
THanks for the heads up.

How about a list of skins sites for netbooks? I havent seen any mentione the Dell Mini but Ive seen then between 12 and 25$ (Dell is now selling them for 50$!!!) and some of them you can add your own image.

Target is stocking a Blking nylon (i think) zipper bag for 19.95. Mini barely fits in it, but seems like pretty good bag.

Slestak,

Awesome comment!

And they have a nice selection of lock picks and RFID card duplicators. You know, if you're into that sort of thing :D

Joe - Hope you have yours by now. I ordered mine on Thanksgiving (US) and got it today (18 days). Of course, the Mini 9 I ordered from Dell the next day won't ship until this Wednesday, but the case looks nice.

Thanks for posting this - I ordered one - $5 and free postage as you say, and it fits, good quality. I paid £19 (sterling!) for one from Amazon and it didn't fit properly, so I'm chuffed to get this for $5.

Buy with confidence, it's a real deal!

I just ordered one - requires PayPal for payment.

I've got the same case.

It fits perfectly, good product!

I bought myself one of these even though I don't own a Dell Mini. I have a HP Mini that I run Ubuntu on, I've been following you since your 1501 Ubuntu days. It's nice to read your tips on everything. Thanks.

I've had one for quite a while and love it. Not sure if they are still available, but they are perfect for the mini 9!
